New Captain Marvel footage teases the origin of the Avengers

I love seeing superhero movies with people who are equally excited to be there, and we get some kind of commemorative coin?! A new Captain Marvel trailer has just arrived to hold you over until the March release date.

Tony Stark looked like he was all out of ideas, Captain America seemed optimistic but desperate and it looks like the weight of the world will be in the hands of Paul Rudd's Ant-Man.

Jet on over to your local Alamo Drafthouse for tickets if you're partial to the Drafthouse ambiance, which many of us are. Now, new footage from the upcoming Captain Marvel is teasing the origin of that idea - and exploring how Fury's friendship with Captain Marvel helped spark the entire Avengers initiative. Hell, Joss Whedon wanted to introduce her at the very end of Avengers: Age of Ultron back in 2015.

More news: Three Things that Kept Chicago Bears from Beating Eagles

Marvel has been extremely secretive when it comes to the Avengers: Infinity War follow-up, even keeping the title under wraps until the release of last month's teaser trailer.

Now, Brie Larson is ready to take to the screen and punch the hell out of everyone in her way, including old ladies.

In the midst of all of this, Carol teams up with Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). You can see the trailer below, which reveals some more details behind Carol Danver's training as a Kree as well as more of her interactions with a younger Nick Fury than we've previously seen. I remain on the fence about this - I can never quite get used to it, no matter how good the final effect is. Could Ryan Fleck have said something he should not have?
