Mic'd up clips show Baker Mayfield's playful relationship with Freddie Kitchens

Reports: Mike Priefer departs as Vikings' special teams coordinator, will join Browns

Priefer is a second generation National Football League coach, as his father, Chuck Priefer - also a special teams coordinator, coached for several National Football League teams from 1984-2006. According to NFL.com reporter Ian Rapoport, the Browns will hire Wilks as the team's new defensive coordinator.

In the first clip, Kitchens messes with Mayfield's beard, and the QB responds by telling an assistant "that guy's an idiot".

Now that the Cleveland Browns have a head coach in Freddie Kitchens, he can begin to build himself a staff to work with.

"We had a deliberate and thorough process and one thing became evident - that Freddie is the best person to lead the Cleveland Browns", Browns General Manager John Dorsey said.

Kitchens has held coaching positions with the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals in addition to the Browns.

Under Zimmer, the Vikings have had four different kickers and each of them have found one way or another to come up short when they're needed the most.

The affable 44-year-old Kitchens is the ninth coach since the Browns' 1999 expansion rebirth and fourth hired since 2012 by owners.

"Freddie really did a great job of working with the offensive players the last half of the year", Pro Bowl left guard Joel Bitonio said. "As I've said before, I think Cleveland and I get along pretty well".

"I'm excited about the opportunity that he has", receiver Jarvis Landry said.

Kitchens is being well recieved as head coach already, especially by Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield. "Our goal is to work extremely hard to earn the right to raise that Lombardi Trophy for our fans and this city".

"It was great working with and learning from Freddie past year", Mayfield said after Kitchens' hiring was announced. He puts trusts in us as players.
