'Inappropriate': Indian captain Virat Kohli distances himself from offensive comments

MS Dhoni Stumps Rain In Australia By Practising Indoors. Watch

In the recent episode of Koffee With Karan, Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul were the guests and for his actions on the show, Hardik has been getting a lot of flak on social media for his "misogynist", "sexist", and "racist" comments.

"Taking into account the relevant rules of the BCCI and considering that the inquiry process against the concerned players has commenced and is pending, it is open for the COA to suspend the concerned players (along with their privileges and benefits) pending enquiry and proceeding into the charges of misconduct until final adjudication".

"We as the Indian cricket team and responsible cricketers do not support such views", Kohli said ahead of the first ODI against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) here.

"Definitely it has to hit hard, they will definitely understand the things that have not gone right".

Kohli described the news as "unfortunate" and made it clear he - or anyone in the Indian cricket team for that matter - did not agree with the comments shared by the players on the light-hearted television segment that was filmed a year ago.

The Indian cricket team has been preparing for the upcoming ODI series against Australia and Indian skipper Virat Kohli cleared his intentions.

Though Hardik apologized for his comments, he could be facing a suspension along with Rahul, who accompanied to the show. Check out what India Cricket team captain Virat Kohli has to say.

"From the Indian cricket team point of view, any inappropriate comments that are made in that scenario are something that we definitely don't support", Kohli said.

India will play three one-dayers against Australia after winning their first ever Test series in the country 2-1.

"So we are not too stressed as a team (about the Hardik Pandya situation) because you'll always have things that you can do in terms of creating that balance for the side. We are still waiting for a decision to be made".

Pandya said he "got a bit carried away" as he explained his bragging about his prowess with women on the show that aired Sunday.

Pandya has already apologised for his comments, which were widely slammed on social media.

After his surprise recall, Siddle on Thursday had said, "It's something I'd probably forgotten about really".

"I will be spent, the day I finish I will be totally spent and that's the reason I am going to stop playing cricket".
