Gary Kubiak Wont Become Offensive Coordinator Of Broncos

Broncos expected to bring back just one coordinator

The rumors for days, ever since word got out that Fangio accepted Denver's offer to become coach, was that he would run the defense and Kubiak would run the offense, be it as coordinator or some other assistant title. According to The Monday Morning Quarterback's Albert Breer, Kubiak is still under contract with the Broncos on the personnel side of things.

They discussed Kubiak's possible return to the sideline as part of Fangio's staff.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, after lengthy discussions, the Broncos and Kubiak have chose to go in different directions due to disagreements regarding staffing and offensive philosophy. However, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, that is not the case.

This is surprising news as both Schefter and KUSA-TV's Mike Klis reported earlier this week that Kubiak would be the team's offensive coordinator under new head coach Vic Fangio.

Emmanuel Sanders, one of the few remaining players from Kubiak's time as head coach seemed ecstatic about having the 57-year-old coach back with the organization.

Logic dictates the Broncos would want him to serve in that same capacity, but the team also has a vacancy at offensive coordinator. Fangio was hired Thursday to replace Joseph.
