First Alleged 2019 iPhone XI 'Leak': 3D Renders Reveal Triple-Camera Setup

It would have been fine until there, but Apple seems to have chose to put an LED flash on top of the third camera and a microphone below it.

Whatever the case, we really hope that the new iPhone for 2019 doesn't look like this.

Sources via Onleaks, renders of the back of a new iPhone, the iPhone Xi, have been published by, who revealed the device would have a triple camera assembly in a square camera housing with three cameras aligned non-linearly.

The three cameras and flash are in a square array and is expected to include a Time of Flight depth sensing system which lets the iPhone determine how far away objects are by measuring the time taken for light to reach an object.

Apple launched three new iPhones - iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR - not so long ago. However, how the camera is setup on the device can be questionable.

OnLeaks claims that the 2019 iPhones are still in the engineering validation testing (EVT) stage, and there could be changes to the design since the phones will not be released until September 2019. With major brands like Apple exploring this area of 3D sensors, and Sony boosting its interest here, we won't be surprised to see plenty of 3D mapping hardware and software in 2019. They didn't say which one we're looking at here, but given the extra camera lens it's likely the iPhone 11 Max, or whatever it ends up being called. But there's so much more OEMs can explore with the unique sensor in the areas of AR and VR.

Not to mention that the design shown here is, in our opinion, quite ugly, thanks to that huge camera array - and Apple doesn't tend to go in for ugly designs, so that too makes us skeptical.
