EPL: Chelsea players angry with Morata with striker set to leave

Report: Sevilla have held preliminary talks with agent of Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata

Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea star Alvaro Morata could be on his way to Barcelona when the January transfer window opens.

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has reportedly reached agreements with both Sevilla and Atletico Madrid as he nears a possible January exit from Stamford Bridge, although the club is seemingly insistent on sourcing a replacement before letting the Spaniard go. Five things to know...

The 26-year-old has scored just 24 times in 72 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions, and the Blues have been heavily linked with a move for a new striker having been unimpressed with the Spaniard's form since his arrival.

Morata missed the Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg defeat to Tottenham Hotspur with what Chelsea described as a "minor hamstring injury".

As per reports, Atletico Madrid are interested in bringing the player to Spain on a six-month loan spell.

His former club aren't believed to be interested in signing the Spaniard, with their focus on fellow Chelsea ace Eden Hazard.

Simeone sees him as someone who can improve his team's attack, with former Chelsea man Diego Costa now struggling with injury problems.

'The player may want to come here over other options, but it is very complicated.

"It is true that I've heard this rumour, but he is not our player; he is Chelsea's and we have to respect them".

"Diego Costa would absolutely transform Chelsea's fortunes and, if it was down to me, I'd break the bank to re-sign him", Crouch wrote of the Spanish striker, who is now sidelined following foot surgery.

If that happens, Costa could conceivably become surplus to requirements in the Spanish capital.
