Eagles console Alshon Jeffery after mistake leads to interception

The New Orleans Saints put an end to the defending-champion Eagles' season on Sunday, winning a thriller at home, 20-14.

After jumping out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, the Eagles were carrying all sorts of momentum against the Saints before it all fell apart over the final three quarters. However, a Nick Foles pass went straight through Jeffery's hands and was intercepted by Marshon Lattimore.

After the interception, Jeffery was seen lying face down on the field before heading to the sidelines to watch the Saints seal their victory.

"I was sitting there telling him, 'Let's run it,'" Morstead said of Payton, via Christopher Dabe of the New Orleans Times-Picayune. New Orleans will host that penultimate game in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, and that's enough to favor them over the Rams by 3.5 points, per USA Today's NFL Odds. Los Angeles, which fell 45-35 at the Superdome in November, will try again next week, with the victor going to the Super Bowl.
