Queen Elizabeth's 97-year-old husband Prince Philip has "no injuries of concern" Buckingham Palace said on Friday, after he visited hospital for a precautionary check up following a vehicle crash the day before.

Norfolk Police said in a statement: "The driver of the Kia, a 28-year-old woman, suffered cuts to her knee while the passenger, a 45-year-old woman, sustained a broken wrist".

Philip visited hospital on Friday morning on doctor's advice but has "no injuries of concern", she added.

Both casualties were treated at the Queen Elizabeth hospital in King's Lynn and were discharged last night.

Ingrid Seward, Editor in Chief of Majesty Magazine, spoke with ITV's "Good Morning Britain" show on Friday, "The Queen will certainly be telling him off as Prince Philip has always been a very fast driver".

In photos obtained by MailOnline, The Duke of Edinburgh, 97, can be seen driving into the main entrance gate to the Sandringham estate on his own without a seatbelt on Saturday afternoon.

After a horrific 24 hours, Prince Philip has reached out to the passengers in the other vehicle involved in his recent auto accident.

The 97-year-old reportedly said "I'm such a fool" after being pulled from his wrecked Freelander on Thursday after it flipped on its side following a collision with a Kia close to Sandringham.

Mrs Warne's 75-year-old husband, Roy, helped the stricken duke out of his auto.

On Thursday, the Duke of Edinburgh was involved in a auto crash in Norfolk that left him uninjured, although those who were at the scene of the accident said they saw blood.

Norfolk Police said they would continue to investigate the incident and any appropriate action taken.

An active man throughout his life, Prince Philip is notoriously impatient and does not take kindly to being told what he can and cannot do.

Buckingham Palace insisted the monarch was careful to ensure she privately complied with the law.

Asked what the prince had said during the rescue, Warne replied: "I can't remember, but it was nothing rude".

Pictures from the scene showing Philip's Land Rover overturned on the side of the road. He then pulled him out of the Land Rover through the windscreen or sun roof.

The royal family website says the duke "learned to fly all type of aircraft", passing a Royal Air Force test in 1953.

A motorist who swerved around the wreckage said the duke was "hanging from his seat" and saying "my leg is trapped". "Prince Phillip turned to her and said "Look, if you do that once more I will put you out of the car".

Philip, who retired from royal duties in 2017 and underwent a hip operation past year, had to be pulled from his Range Rover after it flipped following the collision.

He said Philip was "asking if anyone was hurt".

At a meeting, coincidentally scheduled for Friday, Norfolk County Council approved plans to lower the speed limit from 60mph to 50mph, backed by speed cameras.
