Sources told ESPN FC on Thursday that Liverpool have no plans to recruit a defender in January because of a long-held belief that Fabinho can operate adequately in the position.

Van Dijk took the Player of the Month honours and had been the subject of praise from his manager earlier in the day ahead of the trip to Brighton and Hove Albion.

'[Jordan] Henderson will train today for the first time. Adam [Lallana] out, Dejan out, Joe [Gomez] out.

"I don't exactly know when or where he started with Brighton, but is it right they were fighting to stay in the Championship?" It's not that serious.

'I'm not sure, but we'll have to see'. "We have to see".

Alberto Moreno is now acting as the reserve left-back, but he has been very vocal in his will to leave the Merseyside club, so if Klopp was to let him go then he would need to buy a left-back in the next few weeks, and while the right-back options could fill in for the time being, it's surely worth Klopp investing on a new left-back in order to give Liverpool the best chance of claiming the title.

MacInnes said: "A slight difference, if you're talking about rotation of squads, looking at [Manchester] City and Spurs".

"It's my preferred rhythm".

"I would love to still be in these competitions, but we are not". Who deals the best with their problems has the most success.
