Both big men are on expiring contracts. And the latest word on this is that the Knicks are reportedly exploring a potential deal involving Zach Randolph, someone who played for the ballclub in the past.

NY and Sacramento discussing an Enes Kanter-Zach Randolph trade of expiring contracts, but nothing close yet, league sources tell ESPN. Kanter is on an expiring $18.6 million contract, while Randolph's is worth $11.6 million, northjersey.com noted.

According to newsday.com, which cited a Knicks source, the Kanter situation is expected to work itself out, however, there hasn't been a "robust market" for the center. Wojnarowski also mentioned that more players could be part of the deal, as well as a third-party team who could help make the salary caps work.

Ultimately, the Turkish center has no future in NY, so it makes sense to let him join the Kings, who are now chasing a playoff appearance.

For Kanter, it provides a much-needed change of scenery as his playing time continues to be sporadic under first-year head coach David Fizdale.

Kanter, 26, is averaging 14.4 points and 11.0 rebounds this season. With that being said, a recent rumor has risen in the National Basketball Association community pertaining to a possible trade the Kings might pull off. Expect a few Knicks players to be traded.

Randolph, 37, averaged 14.5 points and 6.7 rebounds over 59 games last season.
