Australian man tries to kill spider, prompting full police response

Wanneroo Police this morning tweeted that a walker had heard a male shouting "Why don't you die" repeatedly.

A spokesperson for WA Police confirmed to The Guardian that the incident occurred, despite deleting the tweet. "The toddler inside was screaming ... caller doesn't know them, but has seen them a few times when walking".

He sheepishly apologised for the inconvenience.

Wanneroo Police did not immediately respond for comment as to why the tweet was taken down.
