Trump rips NBC and 'SNL' as 'Democrat spin machines'

'Saturday Night Live' Reimagines 'It's a Wonderful Life' With Trump as President

In a spoof of festive classic It's a Wonderful Life, the sketch saw Trump visit a world where he had never become USA president, resulting in his staff leading much happier lives. Baldwin as Trump reflects on recent difficulties and wonders what life would be like if he weren't president.

The Saturday Night Live parody of It's a Wonderful Life is almost 9 minutes long and receives some pretty big laughs from the crowd. Trump asked in the sketch. "It was foiled by a team of transgender Navy seals", Clarence the angel responds, referencing the ban that was announced by Trump in three surprise tweets in July 2017.

"Well, you're still smocking hot", Baldwin's Trump replied, referencing the real-life Trump's recent Twitter typo.

The Saturday skit show is no stranger to jokes about the president.

Trump doesn't take the hint - all of the hints - though, and he believes he should be president.

SNL's 2017 episode featured a tree-trimming party at the White House, at which various members of the Trump administration arrived to deliver ornaments for the tree.

"And Trump is someone who just makes everybody nervous and makes everybody anxious, [which is] the last thing you want the President to do". In September, he wrote, "Like many, I don't watch Saturday Night Live (even though I past hosted it) - no longer amusing, no talent or charm".

Mr Trump has called the Mueller investigation a witch hunt. Privately, Ford bemoaned his portrayal on the show by actor Chevy Chase, Hendrix notes. No stranger to targeting SNL in his Sunday morning tweetstorms, the former SNL host chose to up the ante, suggesting governmental action for entertainers who dared say unkind things about him.
