The Cut apologizes for article calling Priyanka Chopra a ‘scam artist’

It's not even in my stratosphere.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas tied the knot at a five-day wedding at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. But there's something that not many people know, or choose to accept, about the global sensation that is Priyanka: She is a modern-day scam artist, in my opinion.

Following the backlash, the website, part of New York Magazine, removed the article and apologised, "The whole piece missed the mark".

An American publication, The Cut, landed itself in a soup when they reportedly published an article titled, "Is Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas' love for real?" After a joyful mehendi and a spectacular sangeet, the two were Wednesday in two consecutive ceremonies, one according to Christian traditions and the other honouring Hindu traditions.

Trouble had only begun for the writer of this article when floods of hate messages started pouring in for her. Looks like Priyanka has the Jonas's back already, as her in-law's, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner took to Twitter and lashed out at the writer. What Nick & Pri have is Beautiful Love.

According to the report in Hindustan Times, Priyanka has responded to the article saying she did not want to react to such "random things".

Sophie tweeted, "This is wildly inappropriate and totally disgusting". "Very disappointed that The Cut would give anyone a platform to spew such bulls-t". It reeks of envy and bitterness. The piece, that was first published on Tuesday, reportedly called Priyanka a "global scam artist" and insinuated that she is using Nick to strengthen her foothold in Hollywood.

"Upon further editorial review, we found this story did not meet our standards", the editorial note now reads.
