Aliens SHOCK: ET could have ALREADY visited Earth, Nasa scientist claims

NASA scientist says we need to reopen the book on whether aliens visited Earth

In his paper published by SETI, he said there may be some signals we have missed when it comes to looking for UFOs.

"Our typical life-spans would no longer be a limitation... and the size of the "explorer" might be that of an extremely tiny super-intelligent entity", he wrote.

The man believes that humans' now thinking about extraterrestrial life is far too narrow.

The scientist theorizes that our whole approach to searching for extraterrestrial intelligent life may actually be holding us back from discovering it, adding that we must "revisit even our most cherished assumptions".

However, that hasn't kept one NASA scientist from believing aliens already visited us here on Earth.

Colombano also suggests that extraterrestrials may have figured out technology that humans cannot comprehend yet, making tasks such as interstellar travel possible.

Radio waves continue to be the major form of communication for thousands or millions of years.

He argues that technology as we know it only began development approximately 10,000 years ago, with numerous fundamental scientific methodologies upon which our current understanding of the universe is based coming to light in the past 500 years or so.

Finally (and this is going to set off a firestorm in the UFO community), Colombano has called for scientists to actually delve into the world of UFO sightings and attempt to separate the "signal" from the "noise", as well as open their minds to the possibility that we have been visited by aliens at some point.

Colombano suggested that scientists are too preoccupied with modern human technology that makes it hard to imagine the technology that could have been produced by aliens living on planets older than Earth. If we adopt a new set of assumptions about what forms of higher intelligence and technology we might find, some of those phenomena might fit specific hypotheses, and we could start some serious enquiry.

In a research paper released Monday, Silvano Colombano, a researcher at NASA's Ames Research Center in Mountain View, California, argued that humanity should broaden their understanding of extraterrestrials, such as them being carbon-based organisms.

The NASA researcher also urged scientists to work on "speculative physics" - theories, based on reality, but "with some willingness to stretch possibilities" in terms of space, time and energy.

The expert concludes the paper by calling on technologists to explore "Evolvable Robotic Systems" while also beseeching the scientific community to look deeper into existing reports of UFOs and extraterrestrial phenomena including, but not limited to, a close examination of "130,000 pages of declassified US Air Force documents, National UFO Reporting Center Database and several other global databases".
