Former Censor Board chief Pahlaj Nihalani, known for his ardent love of cutting and chopping film scenes in the name of sanskar, on Monday filed a plea in Bombay High Court against Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after it reportedly suggested around 20 cuts in his upcoming Hindi film Rangeela Raja. "This is completely against the guidelines", NDTV quoted Nihalani as saying. The move has triggered hilarious reactions as netizens are calling it "Karma".

Speaking to news agency ANI, Pahlaj Nihalani accused Prasoon Joshi, the present CFBC chairperson, of being biased and said since he and Aamir Khan are good friends, Thugs Of Hindostan was cleared for release.

Pahlaj Nihalani says his film is being made a scapegoat by the CBFC and he is all set for a legal battle.

"A lot of people asked me who Govinda is playing". Nihalani states that normally, the CBFC screening committee would have taken 21 days to see the film but in his case, they took 40 days and passed an order on many cuts without hearing him out.

Govinda's comeback film, Rangeela Raja also stars Shakti Kapoor, Digangana Suryavanshi, Mishika Chourasia, and Anupama Agnihotri. He alleged that Joshi was actor Aamir Khan's friend and a film starring Khan was given preference over his movie. "There is no vulgarity no double meaning dialogues". "How can the CBFC follow up whether a film actually releases on the day given on the affidavit?" Still I've been asked to cut out this harmless playful scene. Why?

Nihalani told IANS that the movie has no vulgar scenes or innuendo-filled dialogues. But the current chairperson (Prasoon Joshi) is out of the country.

Nihalani said: "Yes, I've taken the matter to the honourable High Court". Nihalani has both directed and produced the film which according to him is inspired by the life of liquor baron Vijay Mallya.

"Going to court was my best option". They have earlier worked together in films like "Ilzaam", "Shola Aur Shabnam" and "Aankhen". It is scheduled to be released on November 16.
