Support For Fallout 76 Will Be "Never-Ending"

Bethesda Plans To Support Fallout 76 'Forever' Says Pete Hines

It's not like anybody makes a game and goes, 'Well, this is going to make it for 10 years if we're lucky.' Nobody thinks that way.

The Reddit poster offers no evidence for the majority of these claims besides pointing to a single mod posted to NexusMods that displays a sweet-spot indicator on-screen while picking locks. As mentioned, Bethesda says it knows there are some issues the gamers are facing and the development team is working on them.

Well, just Bethesda's Pete Hines re-iterating during a recent stream that Fallout 76 uses cloud-based servers or instances via Amazon (AWS).

A chuffing 30 gigglebytes of patching needs to be done to Fallout 76, with fixes ranging from minor to massive thanks to exploits such as a frame-rate bug that allows people to pretend that they're the Flash as they scoot away from danger. Neeher has already completed work on a few Fallout 76 mods, including one that changes the in-game map to look more like the Fallout 4 map.

However, Bethesda, the company behind Fallout 76, has contacted IGN to dispute some of those claims. "Our goal is always to deliver a great experience for all our players". The only point it has tried to convey is that it will not tolerate any cheating in its game or hacking of the server. "We know our fan base is passionate about modding and customizing their experience in our worlds and it's something we intend to support down the road".

A large number of things can happen five, ten, fifteen years down the line that makes Fallout 76 not last forever as an online game. Several games have been adopting cross-play recently such as Minecraft, Fortnite and Rocket League but those games are still the exception rather than the norm.

We've been playing Fallout 76 B.E.T.A for a while now and is looking forward to the final two sessions to put out our impressions article for the online RPG.
