Yet another whale has suffered from plastic pollution.
Santoso said researchers from wildlife conservation group WWF and the park's conservation academy found about 13 pounds of plastic waste in the animal's stomach, including four plastic bottles, 25 plastic bags, a nylon sack and more than 1,000 other assorted pieces of plastic.

The 9.5-metre whale was found late Monday near the Wakitobi National Park in southeast Sulawesi province in eastern Indonesia.
She said it was not possible to determine if the plastic had caused the whale's death because of the animal's advanced state of decay.
"Although we can't say for sure that the death was caused by plastic, the whale had digested over 1,000 plastic pieces, including 115 plastic cups", the United Kingdom branch of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) said in a tweet.
A 2015 report by Ocean Conservancy and the McKinsey Center for Business and Environment found that over 50% of the plastic leaking into world oceans comes from China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, suggesting that the two whales died in unsafe waters for marine life.

In June, the death of a pilot whale in Thailand with 80 pieces of plastic rubbish in its stomach garnered headlines locally, but drew more attention outside the country.
Indonesia has a plastic problem.
Pandjaitan also said that the grim find should raise awareness amongst the general population of Indonesia regarding plastic use and waste.
Pandjaitan has pushed the government to take tougher action on plastic to help protect our oceans.
"It is possible that many other marine animals are also contaminated with plastic waste and this is very unsafe for our lives".
