For their last engagement of the day Prince Charles and Camilla attended the British High Commission reception, which was held to celebrate the close relationship the United Kingdom has with Ghana and also to celebrate the Prince's 70th birthday this month.

President Muhammadu Buhari will by 2.pm today receive Prince Charles and his entourage at the State House Villa.

"While Britain can be proud that it later led the way in the abolition of this shameful trade, we have a shared responsibility to ensure that the abject horror of slavery is never forgotten", Charles told his audience in Ghana.

Nigeria, a former British colony, attained the status of an independent nation in 1960.
