Guns n Roses slams Trump for using its music

And the Barbados beauty is not the first person to stop Trump from using their music as Pharrell Williams" lawyer recently sent a cease-and-desist letter to Trump after he played "Happy' at a political rally in IN last week, just hours after a mass shooting at a synagogue in Pittsburgh.

On Sunday, Rihanna learned that Trump had been using her music at rallies when Washington Postreporter Philip Rucker tweeted, "It's been said a million times, but here's a million and one - Trump's rallies are unlike anything else in politics".

The letter goes on to state that Rihanna has not given Trump consent to use any of her music, so using it "is therefore improper".

The pop star was alerted via Twitter that the United States president had played her 2007 hit Don't Stop The Music at an event in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on Sunday.

Rihanna vowed on Twitter on Sunday night that she would not allow her songs to be played at another one of the president's "tragic rallies".

The singer joins a long list of big-name entertainers who would prefer that Trump stop blasting their hits at his rallies. Currently, Rihanna's "Don't Stop the Music" is blaring in Chattanooga as aides toss free Trump T-shirts into the crowd, like a ball game.

Rihanna has also thrown her support behind Democratic candidate Andrew Gillum in the Florida gubernatorial race.

"Unfortunately the Trump campaign is using loopholes in the various venues" blanket performance licenses which were not intended for such craven political purposes, without the songwriters' consent.

Because few artists take a lawsuit against the unauthorised use of their music all the way to court, the President and other deejaying politicians will most likely continue to play music they don't have permission to use at rallies and campaign events. The 70-year-old lead singer's attorney contends that playing an Aerosmith song in a public arena gives the false impression that Tyler is endorsing Trump's presidency, although no legal decision has been reached.
