Flight attendant breastfeeds passenger's crying baby on flight

In her Facebook post, stewardess Patrisha Organo said she heard a faint cry of an infant as their Philippine Airlines (PAL) domestic flight took off early morning of November 6. "And so I offered".

Some mothers choose to partake in informal milk sharing, which comes with risks like contamination or the spread of disease or drugs used by the milk donor to the baby.

Organo said there was no formula milk onboard, but she knew she had to do something.

"I saw the relief on her mother's eyes", she wrote. Her Facebook post featured a photo of her holding the passenger's baby, but she edited the picture to obscure the baby's face so as to protect "her family's privacy".

"I absolutely love this, I've often dreamed of being able to help out with my milk to another mother in need ❤ your a hero", one commented.

Patrisha Organo, a 24-year-old flight attendant and first-time mom, offered to breastfeed the stranger's baby. An advocate of breastfeeding, she offered her own milk to nourish the baby and lessen the worries of the infant's upset mother.

"The helplessness you feel when you can not feed your hungry child is terrible, so I had to step in".

'I knew the flight was going to be special to me, as I had just received a promotion in my role, but I didn't realise it would be this special.

'But later on, just before I left, the mother sincerely thanked me for all of my help.

As of this writing, the post has garnered 108,000 likes and 21,023 shares.

"The gesture was lovely of the flight attendant. but you do not know her health issues", read a comment on Organo's Facebook thread. "Your dedication, wisdom and compassion are a one-in-a-million combination", one commenter wrote. That mother must have been so relieved.

She said: 'I could only imagine the chaos of those feelings, but as a mother myself I knew the stress she would've been going through.

With help from the flight's line administrator, Organo joined the mom in the plane's galley and went to work.

"The other passengers had no idea what was going on", she recalls.
