Eyeless Congressional Candidate Isn’t Thrilled With Pete Davidson’s SNL Jokes

SNL Denigrates Battle Wound of Former SEAL Dan Crenshaw

Pete Davidson and "SNL" don't owe GOP congressional candidate, Dan Crenshaw, a mea culpa for making a crack about his war-caused disability. according to the man himself.

This weekend, Davidson was once again faced with enormous backlash after joking about GOP congressional candidate Dan Crenshaw's appearance. After mocking Crenshaw, he took aim at Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat, "so I look fair", he said.

Before doing so, he ripped Republicans for how they looked, including Crenshaw, a former Navy SEAL permanently disabled after serving in Afghanistan who now wears a patch on his right eye.

Davidson's derision quickly came in for criticism.

Crenshaw responded on Twitter in a restrained fashion. "But I would like [Pete Davidson] and SNL to recognize something which is that veterans across the county probably don't feel as though their wounds that they received in battle should be the subject of a bad punchline, for a bad joke".

This didn't sit well with the NRCC, who release a scorching statement blasting Davidson and demanding an apology from SNL.

"Getting dumped by your pop star girlfriend is no excuse for lashing out at a decorated war hero who lost his eye serving our country, NRCC spokesman Jack Pandol said in a statement, referencing Davidson's recent split with singer Ariana Grande".

During the "Weekend Update" portion of the NBC program, cast member Pete Davidson began a segment discussing Texas Republican congressional candidate Dan Crenshaw, who he sarcastically described as "pretty cool" as a picture of Crenshaw flashed on the screen. John McCain was "not a war hero", although McCain spent years as a prisoner in Vietnam. Trump said at the time.
