Diablo Immortal isn't the only mobile game that Blizzard has planned

Blizzard to Make Mobile Games for All of its IPs

"I will say also that we have more new products in development today at Blizzard than we've ever had in our history, and our future is very bright". However, according to two anonymous sources that spoke to Kotaku, the company was going to announce Diablo 4 at the end of the opening ceremony, but this unveiling was canceled at the last minute.

"I mean, I wouldn't rule anything out, but we don't have any plans around [Warcraft IV] at this point", Pete Stilwell, Blizzard's senior producer, told GameSpot.

Diablo Immortal was first announced at BlizzCon 2018, the publisher's annual gaming convention, and was met with both immediate and sustained resistance from fans of the series.

Given Adham's comment about the quantity of projects the team is now working on, it's fair to assume that at least some of them will be major PC releases and that, as the company has assured its fans, Diablo 4 will be among them. Diablo Immortal is now in development for mobile platforms. It even led to one person asking the Diablo panel if the announcement was an "out of season April Fool's joke".

Shortly after the event, Kotaku's Jason Schreier reported that Blizzard is actively developing Diablo 4 and that they've already recorded an announcement video featuring Blizzard co-founder Allen Adham. "We do continue to have different teams working on multiple unannounced Diablo projects, and we look forward to announcing when the time is right", said the company, in a statement. "So we haven't forgotten about them", Adham said. Despite that reception, it doesn't sound as if Blizzard is ready to step back from mobile game develop.
