Dez Bryant to work out for 7-1 New Orleans Saints

Dez Bryant and the New Orleans Saints are reportedly in negotiations after he worked out for the team on Tuesday. More

Former Seattle Seahawk Brandon Marshall also will work out with New Orleans after recently visiting Detroit, added NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

While the Cowboys were at training camp, Bryant took shots at the franchise as well as several players, on Twitter.

The Saints win over previously unbeaten LA has solidified them as a threat to make the Super Bowl. It's an offense that's all about timing on combination routes, aligning everything so that Brees can either get the ball out quickly to a first or second read, or for Brees to hurl the ball downfield.

Bryant, 30, was a three-time Pro Bowler with the Dallas Cowboys who struggled to find his top form playing with quarterback Dak Prescott after the departure of Tony Romo. Veteran Ted Ginn Jr. was placed on injured reserve last month with a knee injury. When Bryant worked out with the Browns, he briefly negotiated with the team but never came to terms.

Last season, Bryant had 838 receiving yards and six touchdowns. New Orleans has plenty of options in the pass game including running back Alvin Kamara and tight end Ben Watson.

It's unclear if the Saints plan on signing one of the receivers or if they are just updating their "ready list" at the position in case a need arises down the road - which is a common practice for National Football League teams.
