CNN's Acosta owes Trump White House staffer an apology

RAGING Donald Trump branded CCN reporter Jim Acosta a'terrible person

Trump also barked at April Ryan, another frequent White House critic, repeatedly telling her to sit down and not speak out of turn.

Jim Acosta, CNN's chief White House correspondent, had his credentials suspended following a heated exchange with Donald Trump, during the president's first news conference after the midterm elections.

The US broadcaster CNN has described a decision by the White House to revoke the press pass of one of its senior correspondents as a threat to democracy.

During the exchange, the staff member is seen approaching Acosta before attempting to take the microphone off him. This conduct is absolutely unacceptable.

Trump on Syria strikes: 'Mission Accomplished!' "In an explanation, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders lied". CNN is standing by its reporter, and accused Sanders of making "fraudulent accusations". In response, CNN called the decision "retaliation" based on "an incident that never happened". "I'm sick of him being the story, I'm sick of talking about Jim Acosta", she said.

WOW - Trump unloads on Jim Acosta, says "CNN should be ashamed of themselves having you working for them".

The questions over the video arose Wednesday evening after the White House revoked Acosta's press credentials.

The seconds-long interaction has been analysed in excruciating detail and likened to a 21st-century "Zapruder film", the closely scrutinised amateur video of late President John F Kennedy's assassination in 1963. "We will not tolerate the inappropriate behaviour clearly documented in this video", Sanders tweeted.

"Now we have a much easier path because the Democrats will come to us with a plan for infrastructure, a plan for health care, a plan for whatever they're looking at and we'll negotiate", said Trump. Acosta refused. Trump backed away from his podium and briefly paced the stage. "That is not an invasion".

At that point, the president snapped.

"You know what? Honestly, I think you should let me run the country". You're a very rude person.

Acosta would not relinquish the microphone and resisted as a White House intern Sanders mentioned - tried to take it and pass it to a different reporter. "You are are a rude, bad person".

Mr Acosta stood up and began to ask a question relating to the statements Mr Trump made at the end of the midterms campaign. "To be honest. You aren't the best", he hit back.

Citing Trump's willingness to answer 68 question from 35 reporters at the event, Sanders said that "contrary to CNN's assertions, there is no greater demonstration of the President's support for a free press than the event he held today".

CNN released a statement calling the president "dangerous", claiming that he "does not respect a free press".

"They are not only risky, they are disturbingly un-American", CNN said.
