Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) and Walter White (Bryan Cranston) may not be in the Breaking Bad movie.

It was not immediately clear if the film would land on TV or in theaters, according toThe Hollywood Reporter.

The New Mexico Film Office confirmed that a Sony production under that name will start filming in Albuquerque - where the original series was filmed - later this month, right up until February, 2019.

The local paper has claimed to have obtained an early plot synopsis too, saying that the movie will 'track the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom'.

Obviously, Aaron Paul's returning for the project, though there's now no word as to which other Breaking Bad cast members might appear.

This Conan interview with the cast of Breaking Bad from this summer resurfaced on Reddit on Wednesday sure takes on a different meaning now that we know Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul creator Vince Gilligan is developing a Breaking Bad movie. You'll no doubt recall that while Jesse escaped, speeding away and laughing maniacally, Breaking Bad main character Walter White (Bryan Cranston) died from a gunshot wound. Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul producing alums Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein are linked to the project, as well. It looks like there may be similar plans in the works for another AMC series: Breaking Bad. Would this be another prequel in the vein of the phenomenal AMC series Better Call Saul? In the finale episode, Jack Welker (Michael Bowen), the uncle of Todd Alquist (Jesse Plemons) and the leader of a White Supremacist Gang, brings a shackled Jesse to his compound, where Walt meant to meet them. "For years we've built up the film industry in New Mexico and strengthened our film incentives, now we're seeing success after success for the film industry in our state".

On the heels of Rick Grimes making his cinematic debut, we're going back to everyone's favorite roving meth lab with a Breaking Bad movie; thus begins the AMC cinematic universe.
