Ted Cruz meets with Dallas Morning News editorial board later today

"Thank you for expressing your First Amendment rights", Cruz responded, which prompted loud shouting by the second protester.

The exchange was caught on video and began with Cruz saying, "It's a victory for women in America".

"Putting a sexual assaulter on the court is a victory for women?" one woman can be heard asking him.

"I believe in due process", said Cruz calmly as he continued to walk.

"You believe in due process?"

More news: Twitter releases massive data trove on foreign influence campaigns

A video posted to Twitter shows women tailing Sen.

"Do you believe in a man lying about his alcohol [use] in front of the Senate and perjury, do you believe in perjury?" another woman asked. "Do you believe in perjury?" the second protester joined in as Cruz was walking through the airport.

In February, The News endorsed Cruz's little known opponent in the GOP primary, Houston energy lawyer Stefano di Stefano, calling him "an earnest if mostly untested conservative who offers Republicans a way past the bruising style that has characterized Cruz's time in public life".

"Shame on you Ted Cruz, shame on you Ted Cruz, shame on you Ted Cruz, shame on you Ted Cruz", the women chanted.

Cruz is now running facing a tough re-election campaign against Democrat Beto O'Rourke. After all, Cruz has aligned himself with a president who in 2016 insulted his wife and baselessly accused his father of killing JFK, and in this election, has tried to win votes using O'Rourke's denouncement of the Dallas police officer who killed 26-year-old Botham Jean in his own home.
