He said, "Twenty-two suspects directly involved have been arrested and now in Police custody and some of the prominent personalities kidnapped during the incident have been rescued by the Police".

A similar fracas, which occurred in the same Kasuwan Magani in February between Christians and Muslims, led to the killing of 15 people while property and other valuables worth millions of naira were destroyed.

Acting DCP Jimoh Moshood, the Force Public Relations Officer, disclosed this while addressing newsmen on the violence on Sunday in Abuja.

"A number of people were also killed".

He enjoined traditional rulers, religious leaders, politicians, parents and guardians to support the police in the discharge of their responsibilities.
