How Bradley Cooper changed Lady Gaga’s life

Massive stellar bodies have to collapse and die so that a new, brighter and stronger star can emerge. "Always Remember Us This Way" plays as little more than a Lana Del Rey ballad left in the studio.

But if anyone really deserves credit here, it is surely Bradley Cooper.

Even if some viewers might not find the story and characters fully engaging, most will agree that the concert scenes and musical performances are truly spectacular. "Because you'll never know where it will go to or how you'll relate to this experience".

Despite a problem with length and unnecessary scenes, "A Star is Born" is still a must-see. This is especially true when Gaga's character, after some hesitation, drops most of her country music sensibility to transform into an worldwide pop-star.

It's hard to capture just what a revelation Lady Gaga is in this movie. She still feels quite familiar, dressed in drag clothes, painted hair, taped eyebrows and the demeanour of someone who is already a star. Dialogue scenes never seem to be too long, or to be an expense that could be gotten rid of; there is as much emotion in the leads talking to one another as there is in them singing. And she hates the billboards because her nose is seen dwarfing the skyline. "I dislike it when I'm watching a movie and you can tell they're lip-syncing", she says. The idea of a man helping to create something he falls in love with has stubbornly persisted, influencing movies from "My Fair Lady" to "Pretty Woman" to "She's All That". He is her biggest dream, nothing even comes close. He makes an inherently depressing, gloomy story sing. He lets her take the limelight in the film, going deeper and deeper into the shadows during the second half. She is now on her own way to success rather than being the special treat he sometimes gives to his fans at a show. Beneath the drugs and alcoholism and the rising envy there remains a decent man struggling to break free and we cry with him as he tries and yet fails. Every time he messes up, he decided to make it up with her by doing something excessive and stupid and she, being so hopelessly in love, laps it right up. The cycle of their bad romance keeps turning and gaining rust until it finally can not bear to move any longer.

This is Hollywood star Cooper's first number one single, while it's the sixth time that musician and actress Gaga has topped the charts in Ireland following Just Dance, Poker Face, Bad Romance, Telephone and Born This Way. He is the one struggling with the demons of his past that he can not ward away. Ally and Jack are arguably flawless for each other and appear to share a deep understanding of one another that not even the audience can fully understand. When she performs on SNL, as the "new" Ally, the camera instead turns to Jack, as he reaches for a beer backstage.

Bradley not only co-wrote some of the film's songs with Lady Gaga, he agreed to her request to record all their performances live without lip-syncing. The film works because it acknowledges that even the most fitting piece of puzzle in love can vanish the moment barriers arise. "I got to help watch the transformation in real time".

Gaga has spoken before about her love for Garland and she also reveres Streisand, whom she met three years ago at a dinner party arranged by Ryan Murphy, Gaga's friend and a director of American Horror Story.

It makes sense now to have a film about celebrity, especially when it happens fast.

Cooper made a decision to give more time to the songs and important scenes in the film which sometimes led to confusion about the passage of time.

"Jack was a little bit darker and it was a hard scene but her reaction was so flawless". Do you continue loving him? The more rational ones among us would opt for the latter but this story isn't for the rational ones. In the myth, Pygmalion, a sculptor in search of a "real woman" unlike those that surround him, creates an ivory statue so handsome he falls madly in love with it, to the point that the gods take pity on him and make the statue a real person.
