Crimea college shooting rampage shocks Russian Federation

Explosive device caused blast that killed 10 injured 50 in Crimea college- antiterror officials

Thirteen people were killed and 50 more wounded, majority teenagers, after a blast tore into a college canteen in Russian-annexed Crimea in what Moscow called a "terrorist" attack.

At least 17 people were killed and 40 others were injured on Wednesday at a vocational college in Crimea.

"In the college he acted alone, but the task is to establish who prepared him for this crime", Aksyonov told reporters at the scene of the attack.

The attack drew parallels to the 1999 Columbine High School massacre in the U.S. in which 12 pupils and a teacher were killed - with some saying the shooter used it as inspiration.

The next day, Russia's National Guard announced that it would be providing additional security at all schools and kindergartens in Kerch.

Hundreds of students from the technical college where the attack took place were at the square, including an injured young woman in a wheelchair.

Grebennikova, who said she had left the grounds shortly before the attack occurred, said students and staff were among victims.

MOSCOW-At least 19 people were killed and dozens injured at a college in the Black Sea region of Crimea on October 17, when a student went through the building shooting at fellow pupils before killing himself, Russian law enforcement officials said.

"I'm sorry for the people he shot and I'm very sorry that he killed himself". Kerch is the point on the peninsula where a bridge linking Crimea to Russian Federation makes landfall on the Crimean side.Putin opened the bridge to road traffic in May this year, getting behind the wheel of a truck to drive it across the bridge.

Authorities haven't provided a motive for the shooting, and teachers and classmates described the attacker as a shy man who had few friends. "I saw people without legs, without arms".

Russian Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova headed to the area to help coordinate assistance to the wounded and helicopters carrying emergency medical teams flew to the area.

He added that the fourth-year student had aroused no suspicion, saying teachers called him "peaceful".

An employee at a hospital in Kerch was quoted as saying that 18 people had already been admitted with injuries from the explosion, and that doctors were expecting around 50 more wounded people to be brought in.

"There's a lot of them, the ambulances did not have enough stretchers", he said, adding that more bodies could be buried under the rubble from a part of the building that collapsed.

On Thursday, a girl claiming to be Roslyakov's former girlfriend told Russian media that he had spoken of taking revenge for bullying.

Russian television reported that his mother works as an orderly at one of the hospitals that treated victims.

He entered the college in 2015 and got a gun permit and bought a rifle and 150 rounds of ammunition several days before the shooting, 112 reported.

Yuri Kerpek told the state-owned RIA Novosti news agency that the shooting lasted about 15 minutes.
