Lisa warned over Serena walkout

Naomi Osaka 'I almost knocked out Roger Federer'

Serena Williams of the United States reacts during her Women's Singles finals match against Naomi Osaka of Japan on Day Thirteen of the 2018 US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on September 8, 2018 in the Flushing neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York City.

Williams told Wilkinson she had no idea coach Patrick Mouratoglou was coaching her through the match despite him admitting to making hand signals.

Addressing why she did not bring up with cartoon with Serena, Lisa told panelists on The Sunday Project: 'I was told in no uncertain terms that if I asked about the Mark Knight cartoon, Serena would get up and walk. We don't have signals, we've never have signals. "I'm doing the best that I can to try and move forward", she said, "but most of all, spending time with Olympia, she's here in the background [during the interview] ... you realize the most important things that really matter".

"So you said you made a motion, now you told people that you're coaching me". Serena's assertion of not seeing her coach's motions does not tally with her statement during the final, where she argued fiercely that he wasn't coaching her but gave her a thumbs up.

According to BBC Sport Williams did not answer when questioned about whether she regretted breaking her racquet on the court. "I'm just trying to recover from that and just move on". Following a few months of maternity leave, Williams, who left with #1 ranking, returned at #453 earlier this year, earning her way back up to a #16 ranking according to the Women's Tennis Association (WTA).

The United States Tennis Association later announced that Williams had been fined US$17,000 (S$23,000) for the code violations she received during the decider in NY earlier this month. She started giving me kisses; she never gives me kisses.

And Wozniacki said she felt Ramos should have shown more consideration for the situation.

Umpire Carlos Ramos handed Williams a code violation over the incident, sparking a furious row that culminated in Williams branding the official a "thief" and a "liar" as he deducted her a point and a game. Say it. Say you're sorry, ' she added. "I think there will be some feelings there when you go onto the court".

'Not long after the tournament, I heard Serena told a friend - who then told me - "I will never lose to that little b**** again"'.

"I think as a great umpire - you obviously have to be a good umpire to be in the finals - you should also be aware that this is the situation".

'So I was, like, this is really interesting, but, you know, I don't know.

"If as a man you want to express yourself, without profanity, you should be able too".

'Your coach admitted that he was coaching from the sideline so, in retrospect, do you think that makes the violation warranted?' she asked the tennis champion.
