Dua Lipa fans forcibly removed from Shanghai concert for 'waving LGBT flags'

Dua Lipa in concert

In videos posted on social media, fans are seen being dragged from their seats by security.

In fan footage, the British singer appeared visibly upset and was heard addressing the audience.

'As a lover of western pop music and culture, this incident has broken my heart, ' she said, adding that she hoped the event wouldn't bring negative impact on Dua Lipa's music future in China.

Eyewitnesses told MailOnline some other fans were ejected simply because they had been standing up. "We're not here for much longer, just a few more songs, but I would like us for these last few songs to just really, really enjoy ourselves, how about that?" In the aftermath of the catastrophic concert, attendees began posting videos onto Twitter showing security officers roughly dragging fans out of the venue, warning them not to stand up, and even continuing to rough them up outside of Shanghai's National Exhibition and Convention Center. Fans are also seen protesting at the actions.

Dua Lipa, in addition to riding high on a wave of pop-song guest spots in 2018, is now making her way around the world on The Self-Titled Tour.

The BBC quotes one woman, who attended the concert with her daughter, as saying the police were "heavy-handed" and "aggressive". I was horrified by what happened and I send love to all my fans involved.
