Delhi police officer’s son who allegedly raped woman before beating her up in viral VIDEO arrested

It was released by a woman, not the person seen in the video, who is said to have been close once to Rohit Tomar, they said, adding that she had complained to the police alleging that they had broken up, but he continued to harass her.

Days after the video of a woman being severely beaten by a man went viral on social media, a Delhi policeman's son was arrested on Friday and charged with rape and criminal intimidation in two separate cases.

The 21-year-old Rohit Tomar, son of a Delhi Police Sub-Inspector, was arrested shortly after Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik about the shocking incident and directed him to take necessary action in the matter.

Well, the video was quite disturbing and Home Minister Raj Nath Singh today ordered action to be taken against him.

Tomar allegedly threatened her with the same kind of treatment if she did not follow her instructions.

The police registered a case under preventive sections of the Criminal Procedure Code and arrested him.

According to reports, Tomar had sent the video to his ex-girlfriend to frighten her to come back to his life.

In the video, Tomar is seen dragging the woman and brutally assaulting her.

The police said they had detained Rohit Tomar, and later released him on a personal bond. Police said that the video was shot on 2 September in Uttam Nagar and that they are on the lookout for the accused who is believed to be the son of a Delhi Police sub-inspector. When she said that she will file a complaint, the accused assaulted her, she has alleged.

"A video of a man thrashing a woman ( in Delhi's Tilak Nagar) has come to my notice".

The cases against the accused have been registered on the basis of the statement given by two women, the police said.
