Amazon Storefronts Opens Up Shopping Solely From Small Businesses

Amazon launches 'Amazon Storefronts' for American-owned businesses

It's called Amazon Storefronts and lets customers shop a collection of over one million products and deals from almost 20,000 US businesses. The portal is a sort of promise ring to the SMB community that sells on Amazon, as it vows to promote smaller companies and help their products stand out among the millions of businesses that sell on the site.

Customers will be able to search through 25 product categories, including back-to-school, home, kitchen, pet supplies and books.

Amazon has announced Amazon Storefronts for customers in the US with the aim of helping small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) sell their goods through Amazon.

"Amazon first invited businesses to sell on Amazon almost two decades ago, and today, small and medium-sized businesses are a vital part of Amazon's large selection and commitment to customers", said Nicholas Denissen, vice president for Amazon, in Monday's announcement.

"Since we started selling on Amazon in October 2016, our sales have almost doubled". It's limited to US-based businesses, and Amazon says it has sellers from all 50 states.

Storefronts joins three similar landing pages Amazon created to highlight smaller businesses: Launchpad and Exclusives, for up-and-coming brands, and Handmade, for hand-crafted jewelry, art and gifts. The new landing page will also profile different sellers through featured videos and stories, as well as a new national TV campaign.
