Vikram son Dhruv crashes car in Chennai booked for hit-and-run

Tamil superstar Vikram's son Dhruv was apparently travelling with two other friends in the auto when the accident happened.

Chiyaan Vikram's son, Dhruv's auto rammed into three autorickshaws early in the morning damaging the vehicles and injuring three persons. The driver has reportedly suffered a leg fracture and is now at a hospital, India Today has reported.

Dhruv was reportedly in the auto with two more people, one of whom was arguing with the police and refusing to sit in the police vehicle. It finally stopped after it sped out of control and hit a wall. A video showing Dhruv's friend arguing with the cops about the incident has also emerged on the internet. Some reports even suggested that Vikram's son was under the influence of alcohol during the accident.

Dhruv has been released on bail.

Dhruv has been booked under section 279 (Rash driving or riding on a public way) and 337 (Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC, said reports. It is said that the vehicle he was driving crashed into parked auto rikshaws damaging three of them.

However, according to reports, Adyar traffic investigations wing made it clear that it is not a case of drunken driving. "We would like to clarify that the accident happened only due to lack of attention behind the wheels and no other reason", statement from Vikram's manager Suryanarayanan read.
