The Guardian claims that the move has already been completed, although this contradicts La Gazzetta dello Sport, which states that Ospina will undergo a medical in Rome on Thursday.

The Colombian worldwide has fallen further down the pecking order following the arrival of Bernd Leno this summer so he's been made available for transfer and a switch to Besiktas has been mooted in the media.

Both Ospina and Simon Mignolet have become third choice keepers, after Bernd Leno arrived at Ospina's Arsenal and Alisson joined Mignolet's Liverpool.

Liverpool's Simon Mignolet and Mexico global Guillermo Ochoa have also been targeted by last season's runners-up in Italy, but is Ospina who is now likeliest to arrive in Naples.

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis confirmed the transfer when he appeared on Radio Kiss Kiss on Wednesday morning. Despite being a Colombia global Ospina is believed to have taken on French citizenship during a six-year spell at Nice. He made a total of 70 first-team appearances during his four years at the Emirates although only 29 of those were in Premier League games.
