The U.S. government last week reinstated a raft of economic sanctions that had been waived as part of the Iran JCPOA nuclear deal of 2015.
The sanctions target Iran's trade in gold and other precious metals, its purchases of USA dollars and its auto industry.
The United States reimposed strict sanctions against Iran on Tuesday, with Trump threatening to penalize businesses from third countries that continue to operate in the Islamic Republic.
"Recently, American officials have been talking blatantly about Iran. they are talking about war and negotiations".
"America's withdrawal from the nuclear deal is a clear proof that America can not be trusted", state TV quoted Khamenei as telling a gathering attended by thousands of Iranians.

Khamenei went on to rule out the possibility of armed conflict with the United States, saying that "war will not happen", according to the AP. Khamenei said Monday that the monetary crisis resulted from "management problems unrelated to sanctions" and blamed the administration of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, the news service added.
"More than the sanctions, economic mismanagement (by the government) is putting pressure on ordinary Iranians ..."
Iran's rial currency has lost about half of its value since April in anticipation of the renewed USA sanctions, driven mainly by heavy demand for dollars among ordinary Iranians trying to protect their savings.
There have been widespread protests and strikes in recent weeks over high prices, unemployment and the wider management of the economy. Defence Minister Gen. Amir Hatami told state TV the surface-to-surface missile, dubbed Fateh-e Mobin, or Bright Conqueror, was effective in all weather conditions.
