Douglas Costa is astonished by Cristiano Ronaldo's training

Angel RiveroMARCA

Real Madrid ace Marcelo is rumoured to be "very curious" about the possibility of linking up with his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Juventus in a £90m deal earlier in the summer transfer window.

Gareth Bale is serving notice that he is ready to shine without Cristiano Ronaldo, factoring in both goals as Real Madrid wrapped up their USA tour with a 2-1 win over Roma on Tuesday.

Madrid's all-time leading scorer arrives in Turin as Juventus seek an eighth consecutive Serie A title, though, the Champions League has proved to be elusive.

Ronaldo joined the team for training on Wednesday with Juventus two important players lighter after their return from the International Champions Cup in the United States. Interestingly, Marcelo didn't say a final farewell to Ronaldo on social media after his departure from Madrid last month.

Ronaldo then slotted home the controversial stoppage-time penalty at the Bernabeu to thwart Juve's gallant comeback from three goals down.

The Portuguese global will arrive in Turin as the Ballon d'Or holder and there is hope within the Bianconeri that he is the talent that can finally make the difference in their Champions League efforts. "That's what Juventus has always been about".

"I was better [against Juventus] than in the first game", he told Madrid's TV station.

The Italian global admitted that he left Juve in a fit of pique after falling out with Allegri in 2017, but "missed home" and wanted to return after burying the hatchet with the coach.

"I am feeling confident, and also I have the confidence of the coach", Ceballos said.

"Everyone has welcomed him and we know how much he can improve us".
