Brad Pitt claims he has lent Angelina Jolie millions since split

Angelina Jolie with two of her children Zahara Marley Jolie Pitt and Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt

Jolie's attorney responded by saying that Pitt was charging Jolie interest on the loan for the new house and that the actress has had to shoulder most of the expenses for the children alone.

Pitt's lawyers say on Wednesday in a two-page document filed in Los Angeles Superior Court that he "adamantly disputes the contention that he has not paid significant child support".

When the mum-of-six filed new custody papers on Monday alleging that her estranged husband, Brad Pitt, was not paying "meaningful child support", the actor slammed her claims. As we reported, Brad has paid Angelina $1.3 million in support over the last 2 years and she didn't complain until late last month.

Hollywood star Brad Pitt has told friends he fears his estranged wife Angelina Jolie will take their six children and move to London.

The 54-year-old also claimed that his ex was simply pulling the child support card in an "effort to manipulate the media".

Pitt's lawyers said in documents they filed for him that Jolie Pitt's lawyers have made no mention that she had any problems with the amounts he has given her for the children. But that wasn't enough for Jolie, who is asking for even more money as their divorce remains unsettled.

A spokesperson for Angelina said, the aim: "is to provide closure to the marriage in a way that clears a path toward the next stage of their lives and allows her and Brad to recommit as devoted co-parents to their children". The only way Angelina could get a cut of Brad's income from 2004 - 2014 is if she could prove they had an agreement that he would support her. Neither side specified what those issues were.

Pitt's lawyers answered that Pitt actually suggested expediting the divorce in this way and had already agreed to it.

And while the lawyer said Jolie will "honour that loan, a loan is not, however, child support and to represent it as such is misleading and inaccurate".

Pitt's response said that a status conference that is already scheduled would serve the same goal.

The court records show that in addition to the $8 million, Pitt gave Jolie over $1.3 million in just under two years.

Angelina Jolie has not commented on the latest rumors surrounding her divorce with Pitt. Jolie could receive money from back in 2004 but only if they signed an agreement.
