Alex Trebek wants LA Kings announcer to replace him upon retirement

'Jeopardy's' Alex Trebek contemplates retirement and names potential successors

"Incredibly honored & humbled @Jeopardy Alex Trebek 1) knows who I am 2) thinks I'd be a great host of my fave game show ever that I grew up watching w/ my family & still watch w/ my own kids (who saw him say this & now think I'm a genius) #Dying", she wrote.

When asked by Levin about the odds that he'll continue with the show after his contract ends in 2020, Trebek said "50-50 and a little less". He says chances are more than 50/50 he'll leave "Jeopardy!" when his contract expires in 2020, and when he departs. he thinks the LA Kings hockey announcer should take over.

Faust meanwhile is a 28-year-old sports broadcaster who took over from Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Miller last season to call LA Kings games.

"I guess there are worse ways to randomly see your name show up on TMZ!", Faust tweeted.

Trebek, 78, even got candid about finding a potential replacement for him should the time come when someone else has to read the answers to some tough trivia questions.

"There is an attorney, Laura Coates", Trebek told OBJECTified. "She's African-American and she appears on some of the cable news shows from time to time". Trebek also named two possible replacements, both of whom were surprised but thrilled to hear that the famously unflappable host considered them to be worthy successors, Fox News reports.
