In what will likely plunge the already fraught US-UK "special relationship" into further doubt, the US Embassy in London has felt the need to warn its own citizens over upcoming protests against Donald Trump's visit this week.
The mayor of London has said he approved the flying of a giant blimp depicting President Trump as an angry, orange baby near parliament as it is an expression of free speech.
US President Donald Trump is set to land in London on Thursday for a three-day visit to the UK.
"Numerous demonstrations are being planned for July 12 to 14, 2018, surrounding the visit of the President of the United States to the United Kingdom", the USA embassy said in the alert on its website.
It includes "keep a low profile" and 'exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings that may become violent'.

Leak Reveals WhyHe will hold talks with Prime Minister Theresa May at her 16th-century manor house, meet Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle and attend a black-tie dinner at the home of former World War Two leader Winston Churchill - all outside London. This will be Trump's first visit to England as president.
"Several of the events are expected to attract large crowds and there will be road closures in connection with those events".
The organizers continued on, "BUT people have been SO generous and supportive that we now have WAY more money than we can sensibly spend just on Trump's United Kingdom visit in July!" The group responsible for the blimp said the president is "a big, angry baby with a fragile ego and tiny hands" and wanted "to make sure he knows that all of Britain is looking down on him and laughing at him". "But let's be ready - and be prepared to take to the streets in the most incredible protest in our history". "His city operations team have met with the organizers and have given them permission to use Parliament Square Garden as a grounding point for the blimp".
