Sarri wants £88M Koulibaly as first summer Chelsea signing

Maurizio Sarri

Chelsea linked attacker Jose Callejon will consider offers to depart Napoli later in the summer if he receives lucrative proposals on his table.

It would appear that Chelsea's pre-season is about to finally get interesting after what has seemed like a long drawn-out wait for news on the managerial situation to get resolved. However, the Serie A side refused to release the 59-year-old from his contract and stood firm over negotiations with Chelsea.

Whether Sarri will be handed a larger budget remains to be seen, but speculation is already suggesting that Juventus defender Daniel Rugani, who worked under Sarri for two years at Empoli, will be his first signing at the club.

Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte also tried to bring the Senegal star to Chelsea in 2016, albeit for the more modest sum of €50m, but the bid was rejected.

According to the same story, Arsenal and Chelsea FC have both made attempts to sign Koulibaly from the Serie A giants in the past but Napoli have been reluctant to sell.

The Sun have reported in the past that, as re-reported and translated from Corriere Dello Sport, Sarri is set to sign a three-year deal with the Blues, something that'll be music to the ears of the Stamford Bridge faithful.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Sarri will begin his time at the club by actually living at the training ground in Cobham.
