Roger Federer not concerned about start of World Cup game

Football fans celebrating in London on Saturday as England beat Sweden to reach the World Cup semi-final

A national survey of 1,633 internet users by market research company, GlobalWebIndex, reveals 63 per cent of the United Kingdom will be watching the World Cup final on July 15 (presumably even more if England are involved) - in comparison to just 25 per cent who will be watching the Wimbledon Men's Final.

The clash of timings has been felt nowhere more so than in England, with Gareth Southgate's men now so close to reaching their first final since 1966.

The All England Club (AEC) has come under increasing pressure to rethink its 2 p.m. (1300 GMT) start time for Sunday's men's singles final with the football show-piece in Moscow kicking off at 4 p.m. (1500 GMT).

Yorkshire County Cricket Club has rearranged its Vitality Blast T20 fixture against Derbyshire, which was scheduled to clash with England's semifinal match against Croatia.

"We didn't have one single complaint of anybody here feeling that the football interfered with their enjoyment of Wimbledon".

When asked if he thought people watching the World Cup final on their devices simultaneously would detract from the atmosphere, Federer added: "It's going to happen anyway, if I'm going in the final or not, the Wimbledon final will take place, and so will the World Cup final".

Lewis said the tournament had learnt its lesson after showing the 1996 European Championship semi-final between England and Germany, which was decided on penalties, on the big screen.

"I am sure the same again will happen on Wednesday - and hopefully on Sunday".

"We've installed public WiFi, very strong WiFi signal. I have known Eric since he was a teenager".

Some 44 per cent of United Kingdom said they won't be watching the Men's Final at all on the Sunday due to Andy Murray's absence from this year's competition.

Ten years ago, Nadal triumphed over his great rival in a five-set epic which ended at 9.16pm (2016GMT).

"I think it would be huge if we win".

"I saw a few pictures the size of Croatia compared to size of Russian Federation, and I think if we are already to be in semi-finals is unbelievable, but if we can make it further, it´s really good, as well".
