Police warn England World Cup revellers after weekend's ‘shocking behaviour’

Harry Kane's Norfolk uncle proudly watches the England captain in action | Other Sport

With their national team out of the World Cup, interest among Russians in the soccer tournament is beginning to wane.

The team has yet to make a mark on a major tournament, but beating Brazil to reach the semi-finals will have instilled belief they can win the biggest prize of all.

England is making waves at the World Cup in Russian Federation, and they're being followed by a bittersweet tune.

Just three epic games to play (and one "well we may as well while we're here" encounter) - until Russian Federation 2018 announces its ultimate victor; Vladimir Putin, aside.

"But everyone is happy with what we have", he said, adding that he would still watch remaining games, supporting Belgium.

Goal scorer Umtiti said the win had come on the back of the work of the entire team.

Fellow pundit Rio Ferdinand was in agreement, saying Les Blues are far better set up to get the best out of him.

Now a new generation of players will be out to create their own footballing history when France meet Belgium and Croatia play England for a place in the July 15 final in Moscow.

The team, led by Coach Stanislav Cherchesov, scored the third largest number of goals of all competing countries, while other teams scored seven goals against Russian Federation.

He has been a revelation in Russian Federation and will likely start in England's crucial last four clash with Croatia on Wednesday.

England take on Croatia on Wednesday in Moscow in another match in which the shifting sands of tournament play now make it hard to pick a clear favourite.

Despite Kane´s impressive tally, Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic has identified Raheem Sterling as England´s danger man in their semi-final.

Croatia have removed former worldwide player Ognjen Vukojevic from their delegation after he posted a video clip in which current defender Domagoj Vida shouted "Glory to Ukraine!"

Federation Internationale de Football Association has issued a warning to Vida but will not take any further measures.
