Johnny Depp Sued For Attacking Crew Member on Biggie Smalls Movie Set

Johnny Depp sued by 'City of Lies' crew member who says star physically verbally attacked him

In the movie, "City of Lies", set for US release September 7, the 55-year-old Depp plays a Los Angeles police detective who for years investigated the still-unsolved 1997 death of the rapper Notorious B.I.G., also known as Biggie Smalls, whose real name is Christopher Wallace.

Depp, who used to be married to Amber Heard, continued berating him: "You have no right to tell me what to do!" Rocky claims he told Johnny the same thing, but the actor didn't take kindly to the news.

In the movie, Depp plays the real LAPD detective Russell Poole - who investigated the murder of Biggie Smalls.

Depp is also now facing a lawsuit from two former bodyguards, Eugene Arreola and Miguel Sanchez, who allege that, in their assignment protecting Depp between 2016 and 2018, they "found themselves in situations that required more than what a bodyguard would be expected to do". "I don't give a f - k who you are and you can't tell me what to do!" Brooks and Johnny got into an altercation after Gregg told Mr. Depp that they only had one more chance to finish a scene, and Depp became agitated and violent.

Brooks said Depp smelled of alcohol and appeared intoxicated as he shouted obscenities then "angrily and forcefully" punched Brooks twice in the rib cage.

According to Brooks, the production had a permit to shoot until 7 p.m. outside the hotel, and until 10 p.m. inside.

Brooks said he was sacked from the production three days later, when he refused to sign a release waiving his right to sue over the incident.

Depp, as well as City of Lies director Brad Furman and the film's production companies, are being sued for assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, negligent hiring and retention of unfit employee, negligent supervision of employee, hostile work environment, wrongful termination in violation of public policy, retaliation, and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

Earlier this year, two former bodyguards filed a lawsuit alleging that they were "forced to protect (Depp) from himself" in a variety of "toxic", unsafe situations, including when they had to dust drugs off his face in public.
