HTC Exodus Blockchain phone launching with CryptoKitties this year

HTC is making a blockchain phone

It will represent the company's first push towards creating a decentralized app store. It also means the user could have a better experience with cryptocurrency.

With the mad rush for blockchain enabled device, Exodus might be a major hit for a company that shipped over 2 million in the first quarter but has thus been able to manage a meager 630,000 in Q1 of this year.

HTC is going to release its upcoming blockchain-powered smartphone, the HTC Exodus, by the end of the year.

HTC Exodus - concept design " We understand the potential of digital scarcity and its uniqueness.

HTC also announced a partnership with the creators CryptoKitties, "the biggest game in the world, which will be built on the blockchain technology".

The smartphone is expected to get nearly flagship stuffing, but details about it were not disclosed.

HTC's commitment to blockchain and cryptocurrency isn't new, and indeed, the firm has a chief crypto officer, Phil Chen.

Making every phone a node of Ethereum and bitcoin for true decentralization, the handset will have a universal wallet and trusted and user-friendly user interface.

To help users retake control of their personal data and their digital footprint, HTC has partnered with Bitmark Inc, a Taipei-based blockchain start-up that develops tools to preserve records of digital ownership and the transaction history of digital assets through cryptography hashing. "It is exciting to be the first to offer the opportunity to decentralize the Internet and reshape it in favor of the contemporary user ". It turns out that we are waiting for another top phone at an inflated price-but the HTC is waiting for another failed financial report for the year 2018.

The specs for Exodus remain unknown, however, Chen did confirm that the blockchain smartphone will definitely be available "everywhere outside of China" explaining that China will be a more hard market due to "different rules, everywhere from regulations to how Android even works".

Originally announced in May without a price, date or specs, the Exodus phone sounded a bit like a desperate last effort to make HTC, which laid off 22 percent of its workforce earlier this month, relevant in the smartphone business again.

The main advantage of a blockchain smartphone would be its security.
