Honeymooner dies after crashing into wife while zip-lining

The stairway to the platform of a zipline installed from the harbor of Roatan Honduras. A newlywed couple ziplining in Roatan crashed killing the husband and injuring his wife

Both were conscious at the hospital despite suffering multiple serious injuries, but Tishman eventually died, perhaps of a brain hemorrhage.

A fun vacation by a newlywed Israeli couple in Roatan, one of Honduras' Bay Islands, ended in tragedy after an unfortunate zip-line accident.

Two ambulances rushed to the site of the zip line, located in the French Harbor neighborhood near a highway that stretches to the north side of the island, Guerrero said.

Guerrero confirmed the death of the man and that the woman had been taken by ambulance plane to the U.S.

The wife was transported by air to a hospital in the United States on Friday morning, Guerrero said.

The husband, who had complained of problems breathing, died the next day and his wife was flown to a hospital in Florida, where she had surgery and is in stable condition.

Honduran authorities are investigating the incident while the zip line company has promised to assist them with their enquiries.

Tishman's body will be sent back to Israel for burial.

The newlyweds were on a cruise to celebrate their honeymoon when they made a decision to zip line over a treetop canopy near Roatan, the New York Post (NYP) translated from the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.

"Our Care Team is providing support and assistance to the guests' family and friends", Torres said in a statement.

The cruise line offers a zip-lining excursion in Roatan called the "Extreme Caribe Zip Line Tour". These injuries come after an increase in popularity for zip-lining.
