Drake Reportedly Has Another Release Lined Up to Accompany New Record Deal

Drake at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards

Drake's Scorpion now holds the number one spot on the NZ Official Top 40 Albums chart, while XXXTentacion's Question Mark sits in third, separated only by Florence + The Machine's new album High As Hope, which is in the number two position.

Drake also adds five new Hot 100 top 10s to his tally, taking his career count to 31 and passing Michael Jackson for the most among male soloists. It racked up 745.92 million USA online plays in its first week, the highest streaming debut for any artist ever.

That line off his platinum album Scorpion has fueled reports that the rapper is at the end of his deal with Young Money/Cash Money, which is distributed through Universal Music Group's Republic Records. (Incidentally, Scorpion album track "Don't Matter to Me", which Jackson is posthumously featured on, lead to Jackson's 30th top 10 single.) Drake also had the highest global streams ever in a single week, the largest overall sales week for an album this year, and the largest week for a hip-hop/R&B album in the two years since...

Hip hop artist Drake and late rapper XXXTentacion are now dominating New Zealand's Official Top40 Singles Chart, with both artists holding five chart positions. Drake is one of the biggest acts in pop history and Scorpion was another notch in his belt of chart supremacy. It sold 732k copies in the first week with streaming numbers included.

All 25 tracks from "Scorpion", which was released online June 29, managed to climb onto the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

Rewind to April 4, 1954, and the first five songs on the Billboard Hot 100 was dominated, in order, by these tunes from The Beatles: "Can't Buy Me Love", "Twist and Shout", "She Loves You", "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and "Please Please Me".

Though Drake's massive Scorpion album is only 11 days old, it appears the 6 God already has another project on deck.
