Zionist Troops Kill Palestinian Youth in West Bank Village Raid

Israeli army kills Palestinian youth in occupied West Bank

An Israeli soldier has killed a Palestinian youth during a raid in the occupied West Bank village of Nabi Saleh.

Ahed Tamimi's case gained global attention when footage emerged of her slapping and kicking two Israeli soldiers next to her house in the West Bank in December, with the soldiers not responding to the provocation.

A cousin of hers had been shot in the head earlier in the day during clashes with Israeli soldiers, her lawyers have said.

According to the IDF, Tamimi managed to hit one of the soldiers in the head with a rock.

"No IDF troops were injured", the spokesperson confirmed. He was treated at the scene and he was later declared dead.

Israeli soldiers had entered the village to arrest a suspect, when a group of over ten Palestinians threw stones at the soldiers who responded with riot dispersal methods.

Tamimi's body was later taken to a hospital in the nearby city of Ramallah, from which a funeral procession departed on Wednesday afternoon.

Video shared on YouTube by villagers shows the young man wounded on the ground as an Israeli army medic appears to administer first aid.

A few weeks ago, the army called one of his brothers, and told him that "Ezzeddin will face the same fate of Ahmad Nasr Jarrar, who was killed by the soldiers on February 06, 2018, if he does not surrender".

The village gained further prominence after the arrests of 17-year-old Ahed Tamimi and her mother, Nariman, who were sentenced to eight months in Israeli prison after Ahed slapped an Israeli soldier and her mother filmed and shared the incident.

"The Israeli violations against the Palestinian people ring the bell of danger through campaigns of settlement expansion and seizing Palestinian lands", Saeed Abu Ali, AL assistant secretary general for the occupied Palestinian and Arab lands, said in a statement, Xinhua reported on Tuesday.

In January, another member of the Tamimi family, 16-year-old Musaab, died in the nearby village of Deir Nidham after also being shot by Israeli forces in the neck.
