Yoga Day 2018 celebrated all over the world

India gears up to celebrate 4th International Yoga Day

Dehradun se Dublin tak, Shanghai se Chicago tak, Jakarta se Johannesburg tak, Yoga hi Yoga hai (From Dehradun to Dublin, Sanghai to Chicago, Jakarta to Johannesburg, there is Yoga all around).

Indian Prime Minister and longtime yoga practitioner Narendra Modi led an estimated 50,000 volunteers through a series of yoga asanas Thursday to celebrate the fourth anniversary of International Yoga Day. Yoga has become one of the unifying forces of the world, he further added. Addressing the large gathering in the backdrop of the iconic British-era building of FRI, Modi said yoga has shown the world the way from "illness to wellness" and enriching lives across the globe. "From Lord Jagannath's grace, the International Yoga Day is being celebrated across the world for harmony and peace", stated Deb.

Bambawale, other diplomats, staff of the Embassy, yoga teachers and students of China's Yogi Yoga centre took part in the event.

In Bhubaneswar, a special camp was organized by the Khurda District Patanjali Yoga Samiti on Durga Puja Mandap premises in Nayapalli.Puri Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb, who joined as the chief guest at the camp practiced yoga along with hundreds of participants. Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje, Acharya Balkrishna were also present during the celebrations.

"The gems of India's unique heritage such as yoga will be respected by the world at large only when we ourselves respect our culture and traditions, and take part in our legacy and heritage", he said.
