World Leaders React to Trump-Kim Summit

The 13 most bonkers moments from the Trump Kim summit. No you’re not hallucinating

Hours after President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un met for the first time, former National Basketball Association star Dennis Rodman seemed to cast himself as a man whose efforts to "bring peace between the two countries" was finally starting to pay off.

Trump said he'd like to bring home America's troops altogether, but that it's too soon to discuss that.

"No, I think I've helped them, because I think things will change. We got to know each other well in a very confined period of time", he said.

"Today I assured his dad, as the president said two days ago, their beloved son, Otto Warmbier, will not have died in vain", Pence said.

After the historic meeting, Trump told reporters about how struck he was by the beaches in North Korea's nuclear propaganda videos, telling the dictator: 'You could have the best hotels in the world right there'.

"It's great that we are talking about bringing back the remains of our military from the Korean War, but what about the tens of thousands of people who are imprisoned and suffering in North Korea?". He said Iran views Trump and the United States with "great pessimism", saying they are known for "quitting treaties and violating their commitments".

President Trump decided after leaving the G-7 summit last weekend not to sign onto a joint communique. Not a schedule for a complete inventory of North Korea's nuclear and missile stockpiles. He said it would "increase the pressure on Iran" to give up its nuclear infrastructure and capabilities. The agreement required Iran to curb its uranium enrichment in exchange for relief from worldwide sanctions.

"I can say that they exist, I have met with people who recently left DPRK and they told me about their fear to be sent to these places".

Trump added in his remarks on Tuesday that the deal "cannot be renegotiated in any way".

Nice and handsome and thin and perfect

A confident leader strode into the Singapore summit and won.

When relations between the US and the DPRK thawed slightly between 1990 and 2005, a repatriation agreement allowed 229 sets of remains to come home to American families.

"We are going to get out of the war games that cost so much money", he said referring to the USA participation in joint military exercises with South Korea.

A man looks at a public screen on June 12, 2018 set up near Pyongyang station showing North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore for his meeting with President Donald Trump. "The most important, hard part of this security issue is for the USA and North Korea to sit down to find a way to resolution via equal talks", Wang said.

Toward the end of the roughly hour-long press conference, one reporter asked Trump what he was prepared to do if North Korea failed to follow through on its side of the agreement. Nor did the North Koreans. Kim's father, Kim Jong Il, and grandfather, Kim Il Sung, had both wanted to meet with a US president as a way to consolidate their power at home as well as increase their stature overseas.

At the conclusion of the Singapore summit, Trump and Kim reached an agreement that included complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula in exchange for some security assurances on behalf of the United States.

North Korea sees the annual exercises as a rehearsal for invasion, but the government in Seoul maintains they are defensive in nature. But we can also agree that avoiding mass annihilation is a low bar for success, and that perhaps we should have been entitled to expect more from an unprecedented and much-anticipated summit between the head of the world's fading superpower and the youthful dictator who threatened his way to the negotiating table.

North Korea blamed botulism and ingestion of a sleeping pill and dismissed torture claims.
